An overwhelming
sense of melancholy lingered over this story, until, right near the end, it
lifted! But, the bulk of our story has our couple at crossroads, odds, and
facing a seemingly incompatible future. Everything is stacked against them,
and she has accepted this, yet, still has a tiny kernel of hope that won’t
let her go. He is brutally honest at times, yet holds back when she needs him
the most. It takes some trials and tribulations to get all the things worked
out, but we do get there, and the miasma of heaviness finally lifts <3 |

So happy
Wyatt got his story, and with a completely unexpected mate! Once he noticed
her, really noticed her, his wolf was there right away. The thinking, the figuring,
the worries, and the doubts, those took much longer to work through. Even
then, it wasn’t a clear or easy path, but they were in love and determined to
be together <3 |

Wow, I was
glued to this story, what was going one, who were these people, would they
escape, what was being done, and, most importantly, who was Sky? I couldn’t
read this one fast enough, for all those reasons, and because I needed these
characters to get their HEA! They did everything right, but everything kept
turning out wrong for them. They took all the precautions, and still were
tripped up by the bad guys. They just wanted to be left alone, and they kept
running into, or needing, others. They got some semblance of peace, their
mating, and a very promising future, by the end of it all <3 |

What I
loved about this was that the misdeeds were not magically swept away! Our
characters did some bad things, and they had to atone for them, but that didn’t
mean everyone forgot, or forgave them. The important thing was they understood
and forgave themselves, and that was enough for them. They didn’t realize
their connection until they were in the midst of it; They didn’t realize
their attraction until they were acting upon it; They didn’t realize their
destiny until they had to act on it. And once they figured it all out, they
found the inner peace they had been lacking, and were ready to face whatever
came along for them <3 |

This tied
up a few loose ends! Ruby’s story, which we knew there had to be more of, was
heartbreaking, yet, amazed at her strength. Ash completely threw her off
balance in all the right ways, and, he was one determined lupine. Loved how
Ruby never lost herself, how she still looked out for those she cared about,
and how she finally got the HEA she had always deserved <3 |
