What do
they say about good intentions? Well, Kyle figures out pretty rapidly what
everyone has been telling him for months, things aren’t happening the way he
wants them to. Poor Kyle, that could be his life’s mantra, things didn’t go
as planned. But the time apart gave him the time to heal that he needed. The
time apart gave MaeBe the time to unleash her inner warrior she had been
hiding. The time apart made them realize how much they loved the other, and
that it was all or nothing, when it came to them. Trouble is that Kyle has
decided on all and MaeBe on nothing. It takes some intervention, Taggert
style, to get these two on the same page I loved
that part one of the book was all the things we didn’t get to see with this
couple in previous books in the series. It also is a good catch-up, or what has
happened for people newly picking up the book. The vulnerabilities of these
two is front and centre, only they are too caught up to see it in each other.
I loved catching up with all the characters, a nod to the roots of the series
(yes, Charlotte is the scary one!), and the seeds planted for the future (Countdown!).
As another chapter of a series in this world closes, a sense of calm and accomplishment
settles, as this generation of men and women have found their paths, and are
well on their way to their happily ever afters <3 |
