This was,
once again, a case of “I’ll read part of it” and ended up finishing the whole
book in one sitting because I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!! Cami and Dalton ‘Doc’
have already had a bumpy ride together and their banter reflects that. But
through all that banter, deep feelings evolved and it all comes to a head in
the middle of a hurricane. Dalton has no idea what to do with the feelings
but to shun them, as he has all feelings that make him uncomfortable, for
years. These two broke my heart as they figured things out, and then the waterworks
continued as the worked it out together. Nothing was simply and
straightforward as a myriad of long held thoughts and feelings had to be
sorted and resolved. The heat between them, no question, it sizzled and
snapped, but getting to that place where they can have their forever
together, that took a bit of work on both their parts <3 Now, not to
be outdone, Uncle John also gets some lovin’ and a lady companion in this
story, as we get a two-fer on the romance side. Bad guys are afoot and causing
all sorts of issues and problems, as the storm isn’t the only thing
threatening their safety. It moves fast and it gets dicey before the dust
settles on both. And we get a sweet and loving epilogue of our treasure
hunters and their loves, and see where their lives are heading, and the joy
and peace these men and women have finally found! |
