Laurel and
Jaxton definitely have their angst on for a good portion of the story, which
makes all the more satisfying when things work out for them! Both are still
reeling from the loss of their friend while fighting the ever-growing pull
between them. Laurel has her family curse and doesn’t want to hurt Jaxton
with it. He wants to be with her, though he understands her reasoning.
Politics and a town under constant threat doesn’t give them time or space to
figure things out. Everything happens in stolen moments, or moments under
fire. This certainly had action, it most definitely had a lot of emotion, and
an HEA that defied everyone and everything stacked against it <3 |
