Vik by Belle Aurora releasing September 17, 2021

I savoured every word of this story, not wanting to miss a thing! There was a lot here as Nastasia and Vik worked through their past, their present, to see if they had a future. Together for years, with one hiccup, since their teens, these two are apart now. The story unfolds as we get glimpses of their early years as a couple then bringing us to their confusing and broken current. It is a dissection of a relationship that should have been so good but fell apart. Not by any one thing, but by so many little things. The love is still there, the attraction is still there, the pull to be together is still there, but these things that caused the cracks, and finally the implosion, still need to be dealt with. Every moment that brings warmth and love is intruded on by those doubts and fears.

And all is not well in their outer world either. I had read Lev years ago, and other than remembering I loved it to bits, really didn’t remember a whole lot. That didn’t play into anything here, as each character holds their own, and you don’t need to remember the then to be drawn to them now. We get moments and POV’s from these characters, sprinkled into the story as needed. Their stories impact our current couple, as well as give insight into where some future stories lie.

Vik and Nastasia’s story really is exposed as the book goes on. As the reader, you know as much as they do about the other, about the world they are living in, and get that information as they do. What that does is has you feeling right along with each character, and you hold all their fears, worries, concerns, love, sadness, and passion with them. I was totally engrossed with the characters, and the epilogue had me sobbing in the happiest of tears <3
