Oh me
nerves! I spent this entire book much the same as Rickie, waiting for the
other shoe to drop. Or maybe it was the same as Daphne, waiting for everyone to
find out? These two had a past, but not really. They have a current, but it
is clouded by that ‘not really’ past. They have issues, she wants to forget, he
wants to remember. But as always, things you don’t want people to know always
come out, and the things you want to remember, you sometimes wish you didn’t.
One thing not in question, for that ‘not really’ past, and this current, is
the attraction and connection between these two. That neither one of them can
deny, and that was awesome to watch develop and come to fruition. Wonderfully
done with dual narration, it captured the characters exactly as I expected. This
being a true north book, we get lots of Shipley fam interference and updates,
as both our characters realize they are not alone and truly loved, they just
needed to look around <3 |
