There was so much in this book, but the thing that stood out for me was how much Ben and Morning Dove cared for each other! From the very start, they had an awareness, and a natural instinct to protect each other, when no one else would. That grew, as did the awareness, as the book progressed. It was beautiful watching it develop as the characters recognized and realized some truths about themselves. The pain these two have felt in life is real, and how they have masked it has become part of who they are. They have so many worries and concerns but the strength they have inside, along with healthy doses of stubbornness, carry them through to each other
