This was an
unbelievably sweet story! Don’t get me wrong, there is no shortage of
sexiness, but there is also a lot of heart and emotion. Those emotions, they
are complex, as would be expected with older adults, once you get into your
forties, you’ve lived some life and gathered some baggage. But you are also
mature enough to have self-awareness. That is what I loved about Jake and Hanna,
they weren’t perfect and they had their moments, and they dealt with them.
Friends to lovers, lovers to friends, and then, so much more. All sorts of
family dynamics, shipping with Jake and Alex *grins*, and some truly special
father-daughter and mother-son moments. This book left me smiling and happy
with the world! |
