Something
was just off for me with this book. I love the premise, but I guess it was
the cruelty for the sake of being cruel, and the naivety of the both the main
characters. I like the story and the dual POV, but the actions of the characters
didn’t draw me in. There was too much “extra” from side characters that seemed
to be driving the storyline and in a way that was distracting. The main
characters were overly melodramatic and that took away from the enjoyment of
the reading experience. I’ll still read the next book in the trilogy, because
I do want to know what happens with the storyline, but this book didn’t hit enough
chords to bring it all together for me |
