Can you
feel secrets oozing off the page? You can with this story! The atmosphere of
the entire book is the dark, dreary, wet, and dangerous as the cliff surrounded
Maine coast it is set in. You feel the raindrops, hear the wind, not just as
the surrounding, but in the characters, their actions, their feelings, it is
all part and parcel. The characters have those storm clouds hanging over
them, even little Paige, with fleeting moments where the sun shines, before
it all becomes overcast and stormy again. The attraction between Jane and
Beau, as electric and as bright as the lightening strikes. The changes in
their emotions as volatile as the winds buffeting off the rocks. The ending
as chilling as the ocean waters crashing against the shore. This trilogy is
off to a start that has me drawn in and wanting more! |
