This series of shorts (short by Asylum standards) gives a main focus to a different sub, Danny, Wren, Quint, and Avery, but the whole crew is around. See, no one man is alone, and each has a place and an impact on the Asylum. Some of the stories show how the sub fits in overall, when they weren’t sure of their place. Other show how important the sub is to the overall operation of the many intricacies of the Asylum. All show that the Asylum is not a building or a place, it is in the hearts of all the members of the core, whether apart or together, at home or abroad, in any combination, they are the safe place for each other. There are a myriad of emotions in each, with some parts making you giggle and laugh, a few brought great heaving sobs and tears, and other parts still had me fist pumping and jumping in excitement. Through them all, with all the mini glimpses into the lives of the many characters, you feel the heart, the soul, and the caring that they each have for the ones they love and the place they find their shelter, the Asylum.

No Good Terribly Bad Day at The Asylum

I love Danny, he is absolutely one of my favourist characters of all time, and this short is full-on Danny, all the time. This time, he doesn’t just enthrall his Dom’s, he finally sees who important he is overall at the Asylum, and starts to understand his place. Funny and sweet, sexy and unconventional, the story reflected every part of who he is, and those around him were unable to resist!

Long Winding Road Trip Away from The Asylum

Wren is the focus here, and the story has a tonne of heart, laced with fatalist logic, much as he is. This one was a little deeper, but it had moments that read like poetry, such was the beauty in the complex relationships at play. Hard times, hard choices, difficult situations test everyone, and then, well, it comes together and tears of joy can fall 😊

A Little Roughed Up at The Asylum Safe House

Quint is no boy, he is all man, and an experienced sub. He is deep, very deep, and his job keeps him always in control. Trouble is, he needs to let go of that control sometimes and him being neglected, even if he doesn’t see it, isn’t a good thing. We get a new character in this story, and he is going to be a lot of fun to watch interact with the Asylum members. While watching Quint struggle wasn’t easy, it was heartbreaking at times, having him get what he needs from the places he needs it, completely and utterly satisfying <3

Baby, It’s Cold Inside the Asylum

Avery struggles with emotions, and that is no surprise. He is in a quartet that fits him well, so he doesn’t get away with hiding. He soon realizes many more people care and are in tune with him then he realized and he is a part of the overall core and an important piece of it. Lots of relationship building in this story between many of the core members, and dress up time to boot!
