The Dark Arts by Kitty Thomas

 5 stars

The Con Artist

This is a classic Kitty Thomas story, in that, you have no idea what to expect and follows no storyline you have ever read before. Saskia gets caught before she even knew she was being hunted. She is ensnared by desires she didn’t realize she even had. Saskia is set free while being enslaved, and her captor knows her better than she knows herself. But he isn’t careful enough, and she knows him, catches him, and makes him completely hers while he is taking her control. They both fall victim to the other by the end, and are as lost, as they are fulfilled, in being together. Perfection!

The Escape Artist

That was, well, that was one of the most amazing reads I’ve ever read! It flowed, it ebbed, it was smooth, and bumpy, but not sharp or cutting. It mesmerized me, it soothed and fired me up, at the same time, about the same things. Claire and Ari didn’t need to know anything about each other, not from their lives, because they connected on a primal level. They knew each other, and exposed to the other, their souls, and that was enough. The real world had no place in their connection, and only a fox named Arnold was allowed to intrude on their solitude
