This story
took some twists and turns I did not expect but completely enjoyed! Oh, and
it had some moments of revenge that were so violent and perfect, you can’t help
but cheer for Kendra as she takes care of business. Having read this series, and
interconnected series, out of sequence, which was no issue, allowed me to pick
up on things in this book on overall story arcs that I may have missed
otherwise. Eric and Kendra connect from the start, and that should have been
the first indicator that things weren’t as simple as they seem. Things are
not easy when dealing with humans interacting with the paranormal world and
Eric reacted accordingly on some fronts, while learning and accepting. Kendra
too had to have some understanding of Eric’s thoughts and feelings that were
unique to him. These two did click from their first meeting, and that kept
them coming back to each other and to make things work 😊
