Once again
I was superbly happy with the narration. The narrator brings the characters
to life, adjusting tone and inflection, so you never have any doubt what
character’s thoughts and actions you are hearing! |

Isla is one
of my favourite female characters ever! The way she feels, thinks, and acts
and reacts, so human, so fallible, and so mature. It didn’t mean she was
perfect, she was far from it, but she saw the good in everyone without being naive.
She fought for what was right, and understood there are shades of grey in
everything. And how she conducted herself when the all the things came to
light, when her world could have fallen apart, well that clinched my love of
her. David was no slouch either, and he was the perfect march for her, mostly
because she got his number pretty early on. Lots of digging and lies to
uncover. Lots of truths and realities to be seen. Lots of sexiness between
the characters. And lots of heart in all the characters and commitment to
family, blood and made. |
