Oh, how I
love these characters! They are all a little older, somewhat wiser, and all
so perfectly aligned that one small thing can throw their world off-kilter.
Mike and Kate are our focus for this book, though you know in the Powertools polyamorous
world, you get a lot of everyone. Mike is in charge, always has been, always
doing what is best for his crew, but now, what if he was overlooking things?
Kate is missing her best friend and questioning a lot in her life as well.
Mike and Kate are solid, but what if the world they have been building needs
some renovating…. Never fear, Mike is still in charge, and just needs to make
some tough decisions. One line,
at a wedding, when the Powertools, Hot Rods, and Hot Rides were all together
made me so happy while reading, and shows how invested I’ve become in these
characters. It was one line, but it really hit the leadership nail on the
head that these groups are families and intertwined with each other. "Quinn,
Mike, and Eli gathered at the center. Each of them the unofficial head of
their clan." |
