I started
this book, intending to read a bit before bed to take my mind off life, so I
could sleep. Yeah, DON’T DO THAT!!!!! This book will consume you, and while it
will 100% immerse you in the story and definitely you will think of nothing
but this story, you will not be able to stop reading. Then you will be like
me, at 3:25 am, heart-pounding, adrenaline coursing through your system,
because you finished the book, and sleep is the farthest thing from your mind.
Read it, you’ll see it isn’t just the characters, it is the direction of the
series’ AND the characters <3.
Langston, oh
how I loved Langston from the start, he is perfect, he just really is. No
pretense, no airs or subterfuge, he is who he is, how he is, and isn’t locked
up in his ego. He is willing to learn, try, and experience everything. Mina
and Rich aren’t that, and they really rubbed me the wrong way right away, but
they quickly made up for it. Not being used to dealing with people who are
exactly as they seem, they make some mistakes and misreads of Langston. Of course,
they make them between each other too, because even though they grew up
together, being married is something else. The ménage had attraction and heat
from the start, and it only kept getting better. The emotional attachments
were there, and they only grew as well, becoming full force love binding
these three together. The suspense and action, it was there, but not in forefront,
until it was. It was an undercurrent, white noise that was always there, and
you knew it was going to get loud and strike, but you never knew when.
The story had
appearances from both Trinity Masters and Masters’ Admiralty characters
(slight PTSD flashback on that one), and the set-up for the next book in the
series (yay!). It also had some true laugh out loud moments, because despite
everything, our Trinity likes to have fun together. One of the best lines is in
a highly stressful, possibly dangerous situation while under attack, and I
have to share it here before I go, to counteract the flashback
“I have a
knife used to cut limes”
“We’re
going to die”
p.s , they
didn’t 😊
