When two of
your favourite series by an authour collide, you have high hopes. When the
book more than surpasses those, you squee with delight. I’m squeeing right
now because I loved everything about this story
Set in
Bliss, a small mountain town in Colorado, otherwise known as my happiest
place on earth, a group of men without memories are on the run with a disgraced
CIA agent Ezra Fain. They were rescued, and are protected, by McKay Taggart,
and Ian is along for this ride as well. Jax is our focus, and he finds what
he has been missing since he woke up and was rescued in River. River hasn’t
had a great time in life, but she gives him a chance. A couple of chances,
and then the evil Levi Green happens. But Jax and River aren’t as gullible as
he thinks, and make it through
River and
Jax learn from each other, heal each other, and share some great messages
between them. Death shows us life is worth living, and should be lived to the
fullest. Love makes everything worthwhile, and a reason to go on and forward.
Family and friends are choices, and how you look at the world determines how
well you can live your life. I laughed with these two, I shed a few tears
with them, and I felt the optimism and positivity they gave off, and I loved
that I was along for their journey
We also get
more on Ezra’s background, a new player in the game, and the big game moves
further ahead as chess pieces are moved. There is still so much in the big
picture, the end game, that is driving the story forward, but for River and
Jax, their future and HEA is set and solid!
