It has been too long since I have read a really good sleeper
hit, but this was definitely worth the wait! Miguel and Ward are opposites, but
they fit together perfectly. They aren’t as different as they think, and both
are pretty stubborn, but once they recognize the good things in the other,
everything builds from there. Children and animals usually steal the show, but for
Miguel and Ward, they are what bring them together, and show them what is real
in the world.
A great slow burn, with some scorch marks along the way, and
a beautiful story with a fairy tale ending!
