This book was so good – I mean, it was, I need to sleep and
am so tired, but I stayed up until 4 am to finish it good. You know in a trilogy,
the second book is sometimes that wonderful creamy centre, big on decadence,
high on gooey goodness, but without a lot of substance to fill you up? Yeah,
the is NOT the case here, because this book is better than the first, this book
doesn’t even feel like it is in a trilogy, it is a complete, hair-raising,
edge-of-your-seat-sitting, make-you-squirm-in-all-the-right-ways, AMAZING!!!
Samantha matures in this story. She has been sheltered,
really her whole life, and has gladly stood back and let her life happen. She
grows in this book, she learns her power, she finds her strength, and, by the
end, she knows her way, and while so many things aren’t clear, her way is with
Liam
Liam also finally comes to some realizations in this story.
He is strong, he has endured, and he must look after Samantha, no matter what.
She isn’t his weakness though; she is what gives him purpose. Stubborn and
unseeing for so much of the story, when clarity finally occurs to him by the
end, you can almost hear the strength with these two in sync click into place
This book is dark, yeah some of the content is, but it feels
like it is dark. Not in a mist, in the shadows, with the little bit of light
there is, reflecting and seeming more than it is. Samantha and Liam give off
heat that burns when they are together, but they don’t give off any light. A
few rays shine on them for a few moments, and then they are snuffed out,
covered, blocked. This doesn’t deter them though, they feel each other, seek
out each other, and cannot be denied the other. They are not a doomed coupling;
they are the couple that will take anyone who stands against them. Now that
they know that, watch out!
p.s. What is up with Josh??? and when can I get more
